This is the best authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Not only is the food amazing but the owner, Felipe is one of the kindest people I’ve met. My friends and I ate here multiple times during our stay because Felipe’s true hospitality in addition to his amazing ceviche, tacos, and enchiladas. Lots of drink options too! Do leave Cancun without stopping by, this is THE spot! They are closed every Wednesday, as that’s when they go fishing. Everything taste so fresh!

Do not miss Calypso’s! A casual, cozy spot with absolutely delicious seafood! The sopa de mariscos hit the spot more than I could have imagined. Big, juicy prawns, mussels, snapper, and a tasty broth that could stand on its own. The grilled mussels over rice was a “why not let’s try” order, and man did they exceed expectations! Very tasty filet of mahi mahi & of course some salsas & chips. YUM! Fun people watching in the open air little plaza with very friendly hosts. Thanks, Calypso’s!

Such an awesome Restaurant & Bar... The Owner is an amazing Man that showed much respect and offered great Hospitality.21 years this restaurant has been here... I went to this restaurant after a long day of jets ski riding and walking the beach... The Owner and his family treated us with such love and kindness. The FOOD IS AMAZING....! Amazingly FRESH FOOD... The Most authentic & flavorful Mexican Food I’ve ever had... Try the soup and El- Pastor tacos... I attended lunch here with a New Brotha that now We are Brothers for life... Such a great experience in Cancun... God Bless This restaurant and the wonderful People that works here...

Food was BOMB really well seasoned and served nicely, the portions are generous and prices are affordable! If you’re looking for top notch sea food for a great price, this is a great place! Walking distance from the party scene plaza and hosts are really nice, makes you feel at home and comfortable to ask about anything on the menu. 10/10 would come here again for great food and service

I loved the food. The homemade tortilla chips were delicious. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla and my husband a plate with beef. The atmosphere was super casual and we could enjoy the weather as the tables were outdoors. The service was great and although we were not ready to order, there was no hurry, which is awesome when you're on vacation. Highly recommend.

While the wife gets a massage nearby, I routinely hangout at Calypso's for a few beers to pass the time. Calypso's is located in a strip style mall tucked back from the main boulevard that you can see from the patio seating area. There are inside and outside tables. The interior is clean and organized. The owner, Felipe, is always friendly and welcoming. The beer is cold and fairly priced. Felipe takes both pesos and dollars. I have never tried the food but plan to do so during a return visit.
